Rebecca Stancliffe is a PhD Candidate at the Centre for Dance Research (C-DaRE) researching dance annotation under the supervision of Sarah Whatley and Scott deLahunta. She is interested in how annotation influences the way we understand, see, analyse and interpret dance.

Rebecca graduated from London Contemporary Dance School with Distinction in both a Post-Graduate Diploma in Performance (2009) and a Master of Arts in Contemporary Dance (2010) and completed a BA(Hons) Dance Theatre with First Class Honours at Trinity Laban in 2008. She was awarded the Sylvia Bodmer Award for Outstanding Achievement in Choreological Studies in 2008 and won the Coventry School of Arts and Design Poster competition in 2014. Rebecca is Editorial Assistant for the Journal of Dance and Somatic Practices and Newsletter Editor for the Society for Dance Research. She is a lecturer in release-based contemporary technique at Trinity Laban and a visiting lecturer at Bird College.
